20-Year Rust-Through Warranty
Galvanized framing, panels, and paint backed for two decades — plus a plain account of what the warranty does not cover.
What's covered.
20 years against rust-through on galvanized tube framing, including legs, trusses, purlins, and base rails. Coverage runs from the original install date and stays with the building.
Roof and wall panels are covered against rust-through and against paint peeling or blistering for 20 years. Panels are replaced with the same gauge and profile, matched as closely as the mill run allows.
One year on the install itself — anchoring, panel fastening, trim, and squaring. If a seam leaks or an anchor pulls because of how it was set, a crew comes back out.
What's not covered.
No warranty covers everything. Here is exactly where ours stops.
- 01Damage from wind, hail, snow load, flood, fire, earthquake, or any other act of nature. That's what your property insurance is for.
- 02Buildings loaded past their certified rating — extra snow, hanging equipment, or a lean-to added after the fact by someone other than us.
- 03Rust or corrosion caused by standing water, animal waste, fertilizer, chemicals, or salt spray in direct contact with the steel.
- 04Cosmetic fade and chalking. Paint lightens over 20 years outdoors. Uniform fade is normal and is not a defect.
- 05Scratches, dents, and dings from mowers, ladders, vehicles, or handling after delivery.
- 06Buildings moved, modified, drilled into, or re-anchored by anyone other than a factory-certified crew.
- 07Concrete, asphalt, dirt work, grading, drainage, and anything under the building. We don't pour it and we don't warranty it.
- 08Labor after the first year on non-certified installs, and any building where anchors were never installed.
How to file a claim.
- STEP 01Photograph the issue
Wide shot of the whole building plus two or three close-ups of the affected area. Daylight, no filters.
- STEP 02Find your paperwork
We need the order number or SKU from your invoice and the install date. If you can't find it, we can look it up by address.
- STEP 03Send it in
Email the photos and order number to warranty@commercialsteelbuildings.com, or call (888) 271-9276 and we'll take it over the phone.
- STEP 04Inspection
We review within three business days. Panel and paint claims are usually settled from photos; framing claims may need an on-site look.
- STEP 05Repair or replace
Approved claims are scheduled with a certified crew. Materials ship from the nearest plant — typically two to four weeks.
